Medical experts say that high-intensity exercise, such as running or jogging, should be done with extreme caution if wearing a face mask.

Wearing a face mask while running or jogging can make breathing difficult. In general, any cardiovascular activity increases breathing, which leads to breathing through the mouth.

Although it is a social responsibility, wearing a face mask while running or jogging can affect your performance. It is recommended to do low-intensity exercises. You can choose walking or slow jogging, which will put less pressure on your breathing.

Running or jogging in the warmer months presents different challenges than in the cooler months. Heat, humidity, and dehydration are legitimate factors when running or jogging in the warmer months. Adding a face mask makes the process more difficult.

The face mask must be breathable and durable, materials such as polyester are better than cotton because they stretch longer and can also be more durable, you can wash them after running or jogging and you can reuse them again. Before leaving the house, make sure that it is not too tight or too wide and that it covers the nose and mouth.

Surgical masks should be avoided, as they are intended primarily for medical staff and to protect others if we have an infection.

The rule is simple: if you are running or jogging in a crowded area, you should wear a face mask. Whatever model you choose, it is important to wash it after each use.
