Some studies show that beer consumed in moderation can be beneficial to your health.

1. Beer is more nutritious than other alcoholic beverages

Many experts say that beer is more of a food than a drink. Beer is richer in vitamin B than wine. Beer contains vitamin B6 which prevents heart attacks, helping to form homocysteine in our body.

The antioxidant content of beer is equivalent to that of wine, but the specific antioxidants are different because beer contains different flavonoids than those used in wine production.

Beer also has significant protein and soluble fiber, which reduces the likelihood that the system will absorb fat.

It is one of the food sources that has the most significant silicon content and helps prevent osteoporosis. Beer may contain prebiotics that feed the good bacteria in our gut.

Beer also contains iron, calcium, phosphates, phosphorus, niacin, magnesium, and potassium.

2. Beer protects the heart

Studies show that if you drink alcohol in moderation, your risk of cardiovascular disease is low (heart attack or stroke). This benefit comes largely from the natural antioxidants of beer called phenols. According to a preliminary study presented in 2016, people who drank moderately beer had the slowest drop in high-density lipoprotein (HDL) or ″good cholesterol″ levels and a lower risk of cardiovascular disease.

3. Beer reduces the risk of developing kidney stones

One study found that moderate daily beer consumption can reduce the risk of developing kidney stones by 40%. Beer is 90% water, and water is the most powerful tool for preventing kidney stones and helps eliminate harmful toxins from the body.

Beer contains potassium and magnesium which helps prevent the development of kidney stones.

Hops in beer help slow the release of calcium from the bones, which could be reabsorbed by the kidneys in the form of painful stones.

4. Beer improves cholesterol levels

Not only does beer not contain cholesterol, but it can improve cholesterol in the body. Beer has high amounts of soluble fiber (known as beta-glucans) which helps reduce the level of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) or ″bad cholesterol″.

Because alcohol affects the body’s ability to absorb vitamins and minerals, beer can reduce the body’s ability to burn stored fat.

5. Beer strengthens bones

Beer is rich in dietary silicon, which contributes to bone growth and development and reduces the risk of osteoporosis.

A study conducted in 2009 showed that older people who drank one or two glasses of beer daily had a higher bone density and thus were less prone to fractures than those who did not drink beer.

6. Beer helps reduce stress

Researchers have found that two glasses of beer a day can reduce stress or anxiety. While alcohol can help reduce stress at the moment, in the long run it can contribute to depression and anxiety, making stress harder to manage.

7. Beer helps increase mental health

The flavonoids and silicone found in beer protect the brain against neurodegenerative diseases such as dementia and Alzheimer’s, slow down the process of memory degradation, protect brain cells from oxidative damage.

Beer also increases the amount of dopamine in the brain, which can make you feel calmer and more relaxed.

Several studies have shown that people who drink beer in moderation are 23% less likely to develop various forms of dementia and cognitive impairment.

8. Beer reduces the risk of diabetes

A Harvard study found that people who drank beer 3 to 4 times a week were less likely to develop type 2 diabetes than those who did not drink it at all. The alcohol content of beer increases insulin sensitivity, which helps prevent diabetes.

9. Beer cleans the teeth

One study found that beer can prevent bacteria from forming and growing on teeth. Even the weakest beer extract tested blocked the activity of bacteria. Beer was also one of the best extracts to block communication between bacteria, which slows their growth.

10. Beer reduces inflammation

Inflammation in the body is the cause of many diseases and, according to a study, beer hops have anti-inflammatory properties.

11. Beer means longevity

People who drink beer in moderation live longer than those who do not. Beer can add years to life, as it has a positive impact on cholesterol levels, lowers the risk of diabetes, and strengthens the heart.

Beer increases the level of vitamin E, acting as an antioxidant that helps maintain healthy skin and at the same time slows down the aging process.

12. Beer helps in weight loss

A study by Oregon State University showed that xanthohumol, a chemical flavonoid found in beer, helps reduce weight and cholesterol levels.

Xanthohumol, a flavonoid found only in hops, is an antioxidant that plays an important role in preventing cancer. Beer is also a good source of polyphenols that help prevent and treat cancer.

Specifically, moderate beer consumption helps prevent a certain chemical reaction that can lead to prostate cancer in men. Beer has also been shown to reduce the chances of breast cancer in women.

13. Beer helps to improve eyesight

A study by the University of Western Ontario showed that one beer a day reduces the risk of developing cataracts.

The enzymes and antioxidants found in beer help protect the eyes by preventing mitochondrial damage.

14. Beer helps cure insomnia

Beer contains lactoflavin and nicotinic acid that promotes sleep.

15. Beer has positive effects on the skin and hair

The vitamins in beer are a good source of acne prevention and cure and add radiance to the skin. In addition, hops and malt in beer stimulate hair growth.

Beer is considered one of the best natural treatments against dandruff. This health benefit is attributed to the high level of yeast and vitamin B content.

16. Beer helps manage blood pressure

High blood pressure can be responsible for several health problems, but beer can reduce the risk of high blood pressure.

A Harvard study showed that people who drink beer in moderation are less likely to develop high blood pressure than those who drink wine or other alcoholic beverages.

17. Beer is 100% natural

Beer is as natural as orange juice or milk. Beer does not need preservatives, because it has alcohol and hops, both of which are natural preservatives.

18. Beer is safer than water

If you are in a place where it is not recommended to drink water, local beer is always a safe choice. It is even safer than local bottled water. The beer is boiled during the brewing process and is kept clean afterward directly in the covered and sealed bottle. There are no life-threatening bacteria in beer.

19. Beer does not cause ″beer belly″

Studies have shown no link between the amount of beer people drink and the size of their bellies. The association between beer and obesity, if any, is probably weak. People who drink beer regularly and moderately not only do not develop a belly of beer but have a lower weight than those who do not drink. Beer can stimulate your metabolism by preventing the absorption of fat.
